Microadventures are a great concept, a cheep, fun way to get outside and explore the countryside. This rather beautiful idea came out of the brain of Alastair Humphreys who has written a great little pice on how to get involved yourself and provided plenty of great examples.
Thinking about it its actually a brilliant way way to take some great photos as it forces you to be in the hills during the golden hours around sunrise and sunset when the light is good and you are more likely to get atmospheric clouds, mists, and shadows. A few kg of camera equipment does dent the fast and light ethic but so what.
